🏋️‍♂️ Key Reasons Overhead Mobility is Crucial:

  1. Proper Positioning = Better Lifts

    • To successfully snatch or jerk heavy weight, your arms need to lock out overhead while your shoulders, upper back, and thoracic spine keep everything stable. Without mobility, you’ll struggle to hit that stacked position (wrist over elbow, over shoulder, over hip).

  2. Injury Prevention

    • Poor overhead mobility forces your body to compensate—usually through the lower back or elbows. Over time, this can lead to pain or injury in the shoulders, spine, or wrists.

  3. Efficiency & Balance

    • Good mobility lets you stay upright in the bottom of a snatch or split jerk. That saves energy and reduces the risk of missing the lift forward or backward due to instability.

  4. Improved Confidence

    • When you trust your overhead position, you commit more confidently to the lift. Athletes with sketchy mobility tend to hesitate or bail early—especially under heavier weights.
